Sikinos has many churches and monasteries with separate historical and architectural importance. The main churches and abbeys are:

The church of Pantanassa: it is found in Hora and its wood carved gold plated iconostasis and the icons of the Cretan School, present great interest.

The monastery of Zoodochos Pigi: It is found in Hora and has been abandoned since 1834. The monastery was built in 1690 and reminds a castle, since it is surrounded by walls and dominates on the top of a rock. This is where residents resorted in the past, in order to be protected from the pirate raids.

The Episkopi: It is found 4 km south-west of Hora, where ruins of ancient residences, as well as a temple of 3rd cent. B.C. has been located, which was later changed into a Christian church. Jewel of Hora is the church of Pantanassa (metropolis of the island), built in 1787, an exquisite monument of the Cycladic ecclesiastical architecture with a wood carved gold plated iconostasis and marvellous icons of the Cretan School.

The church of Panagia Pantochara, which is built in the memory of Odysseas Elytis is also important.

North-west of Kastro we find the picturesque churches of Agios Vasilios and Agioi Anargyroi.
